Our rattan bags have enduring charm and appeal. Each receives a protective coat of stain and varnish, producing a warm, rich, golden finish. Total price of any bag is $220 plus $10.00 shipping and handling.

Three classic styles are available: The #420 Large Oval is 10 ¾" x 7 ½" x 7 ½ ," and is by far our most popular style. The #405 Small Oval is 6 ½" x 6" x 5 ¼," and is popular as an evening bag. The #410 Creel Bag has a more rectangular shape, and its dimensions are 9" x 6 ½" x 6 ½".

The newest member of the Farnum Handbag family is the #407 Tall Small Oval. This new bag is 7" x 7" x 5 ¼" - in between the #420 Large Oval and #405 Small Oval - the perfect size for a wallet and a phone.

NEW! If you scroll down, you will see the Tall Small Oval featured with our new Handmade Braided Leather Strap. The strap is 50 inches long, and available on any bag style, as an alternative to the classic wooden handle.

The hand-painted scrimshaw plaque design of your choice on top is complimented by a coordinated design inside the lid. Each bag comes with a scrimshaw key ring, and features a penny fastened to the bottom - marking the year of the bag's "birth" and providing assurance that yours is a genuine Farnum bag. Every Farnum handbag is personalized by being hand-signed and dated by the artist.
